WELCOME / Fall 2012

J / News Desk is CSUN Journalism Prof. Linda Bowen's website. On the navigation bar above, you will find links with drop down menus for important class and Journalism Department information. For example, click on INFORMATION, and you will find the professor's office location, hours and other key information. Make sure to read the information on the Core Values drop down page under HOME. Lots of information about the Journalism Department is available as well.

A NOTE ABOUT MOODLE:
Students will find course syllabi and links to this website on the university's Moodle course pages, starting Aug. 27, 2012. Assignments and handouts also may be posted on Moodle. Students may be instructed from time to time to upload assignments at this learning management site operated through CSUN's Academic and Information Technology departments.

CLASSROOM COURTESY

Out of respect for your classmates and the professor, please turn off your cell phones during class sessions unless otherwise instructed. You may be asked to leave if you are texting or checking non-news or journalism-related messages, using the lab computers for personal e-mail, to play games, buy tickets or any other non-class related activities. Laptop use is allowed, if it is for course work.

Prof. Bowen is dedicated to creating a respectful and dignified classroom environment where learning can thrive and where it's safe to discuss and disagree.
